Paratext Text (ar bhás Robin Prising, údar 'Goodbye Manilla')
Notes This poem was written in commemoration of Robin Prising, an anti-war activist who spent three years of his youth in a Japanese internment camp in Manilla in the Philippines, during World War II. The experience, written about in his memoir, 'Goodbye Manilla', changed Prising greatly, and contributed to his becoming an anti-war activist in later years. The speaker of the poem praises his qualities, describing him as an angel.
