Notes | This poem gives an emotive account of the Dunblane massacre, which occurred in a primary school in Scotland in March 1996. The poem is written from the perspective of the victims of the attack, which occurred when Thomas Hamilton shot dead 16 pupils and their teacher, Mrs Mayor. The shooting led to the outlawing of most private firearms in the United Kingdom. The poem opens as if it is a normal school day, and is told from the perspective of those victimized by Hamilton. |
