Paratext Text I gcuimhne ar mhuintir Mhaidrid agus tragóid an 2 Márta 2004
Notes The poem is written to commemorate a train attack in Madrid, in March 2004. The attack was claimed by Al-Qaeda, who had committed the strike as a result of Spanish participation in the Iraq War and the War on Terror. The coordinated bombings against the Cercanías commuter train system of Madrid left 1,800 injured and 191 dead. The speaker describes how she read about the tragedy in the news of the day, during her own train journey, which raises her own paranoia and fear of being on the train.
