| Paratext Text | Belfast-Glasgow 22-25 February 2014 |
| Notes | This poem contains references to the Ukrainian uprising and overthrow of government, occurring in February 2014. This may also be alluded to in the description of the yellow cat's-cradles and the dawn's blue - the two colours of the Ukrainian flag. The speaker also notes the current capitalistic world crisis - the Davos World Economic Forum and the disillusionment with bankers and capital felt by the 'ethicalized' of the world. The speaker of the poem notes the possibility of an uprising happening from these awakened, ethicalized, masses - an uprising akin to the French Revolution. |
