Paratext Text | Jasenovac, on the Sava 1-16 September 2014 |
Notes | The speaker of the poem describes the 'Auschwitz' of the Balkan states during World War II - Jasenovac, in which Jews, Roma, and Serbian peoples perished under the reign of Ustaše's Nazi puppet regime. The speaker shows the spartan exhibition of records and weapons from the camp, and also highlights the killing of children in this camp, by portraying the child's jotter with the handwriting practiced in it - a task completed in a 'loveless universe'. |
