Notes This is a two-part lyric sequence, in which the speaker of the poem images what she would take with her, should she have to flee her home and seek shelter as a refugee. The second part of the poem in particular makes notable mention of the refugee's journey: Red Cross relief, traversing borders, travelling on boats and planes, and fleeing home forever.
