Notes Set in a game arcade on the 12 Oct 1994, the eve of the Ulster Defence Association ceasefire. Although the explicit context is Northern Ireland, the poem also engages with issues of masculinity, war aggression, and military operations in the wider international context of video game entertainment. Allusion perhaps to the Vietnam War as the gamer boasts of setting US interns free through the blur of napalm.
