Notes | This translation to Irish is only a small excerpt of the original, much longer, poem in Arabic. Poem was originally written while the poet was under siege in Ramallah (2002) during Operation Defensive Shield by Israel. The poem describes the freedom and flight of white doves into the sky, after the war planes have vanished. This freedom is contrasted with the situation of those on earth in Palestine, walking between bombs. |
