Notes This short lyric poem describes a woman’s escape from somewhere. It is likely in reference to a situation of emigration, possibly forced emigration. Her own language comes with her, as well as the memories of her home country in as fragments in her pocket. Her new life doesn't appear to be much better, however - she lives in a house that won't let her in or out, her only escape being her dreams. In these dreams, she sees those who resemble the dead - her ancestors from her home country, perhaps.
