Notes | The speaker tells of a relative (likely an Irishman or first-generation Irish-American) who witnessed terrible brutality in the Pacific War. Mention in particular of coming to the aid of the USS Potomac only to find the sea littered with dead bodies. The assassination of JFK, with whom the relative spent time during the War in the Pacific, deeply affect him. His death brings him back to the Pacific War. |
