Paratext Text For Thomas McGreevy
Notes This poem is an elegy for Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936) and describes his death in violent terms. Lorca is believed to have been killed by Nationalist forces at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. There is an allusion to MacGreevy's poem, 'Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill', in the first paragraph and specific mention of various places including Salamanca and Granada.
