| Notes | At the time of writing, the poet was attending the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. The poet-speaker's choice of admired paintings here seems thusly significant: the dead child and the blood-coloured strawberries seem to reflect oblique aspects of the very war for which the Tribunal has been organized. |
