Paratext Text Brdo shortcut Žrnovo 15 September 2014
Notes The shortcut or path described in this poem appears to hint at a sense of reconciliation or something similar in Croatia. The phrase, 'inherited awareness,' seems to imply something of the aftermath of the war and genocide in Croatian history, although this is an oblique reference. This path, the Brdo shortcut, is also located close to the Serbian border. Could this allude to ethnic tensions which once were a matter of contention in Croatia?
