Notes | In another publication of this poem, on Poethead.com, the following information is given regarding these poems: Poet’s Note: 'These poems that I submitted are a part of my experience as a volunteer in an immigrant detention centre in Northern Ireland. They were written in Italian and translated into English by the poet Maria McManus.' In this publication, however, the location of the poems, Northern Ireland, is not clearly specified. This short lyric sequence contains three parts, which describe the speaker's fear of the vastness of the sky and her desire to reach land, which will provide her with a home, a 'place to live'. |
