They were written in Italian and translated into English by the poet Maria McManus. The English language versions appear beneath the poems. – Viviana Fiorentino'. The speaker of the poem here describes herself and another passing time - possibly in a refugee detention camp. The speaker also seems to compare herself to a spore or seed carried in the wind, which has a chance to fall, settle, and root in the earth. |
