Notes | This poem is part of a book-length lyric sequence. This poem considers artistic pieces which were created in response to the Russian Revolution. Though emphasis is placed on ‘isms’ and notions of modernity, Lenin and Trotsky are specifically mentioned and depicted as considering the most pressing demands in the immediate aftermath of the Russian Revolution. Reference is also made to the Dadaists and the Centre Pompidou in France. |
