Notes | The autobiographicl poem pays homage to Jorge Luis Borges who visited Dublin in 1982 to attend Bloomsday. The speaker/poet recalls meeting the Argentine blind writer and expressing admiration towards him. The theme of blindness is employed as a point of reference between Borges and the speaker, both 'invisible accomplices' living in a 'dark world.'
