Notes | Brian Keenan was an Irish and British citizen (from NI) when he was arrested and illegally detained in the Lebanon for four years from 1986-1990. He had been teaching English in the American University in Beirut at the time. This poem emphasises the poor physical state of Keenan upon his release, and the greed of the media in finding out his story after the event. |
