Notes The speaker of the poem describes the difference in the Peace Processes of Northern Ireland and South Africa. Using wordplay, based on 'geal' and 'dubh' - 'white' and 'black', the speaker notes approvingly South Africa's lack of bloodshed in terms of their own peace process. However, the same cannot be said for Northern Ireland, which, according to the speaker, has not followed the good example of South Africa and continues to be mired in bloodletting.
