Notes	This poem was originally published under the title 'An Tásc' in the poet's earlier collections, Cré agus Cláirseach and Scian: Rogha Dánta. The poem explores links between Irish and Chilean oppression due to foreign invasions and take-overs. Irish harpers were often killed and maimed by the English invaders to stifle aspects of Irish culture. Victor Jara, a guitarist, musician, teacher, activist, and supporter of the socialist President of Chile, Allende, was tortured and killed by followers of the dictator Pinochet in Chile, after the 1973 right-wing CIA-assisted coup of Chile.
