Notes	Written in response to massacre in Srebrenica, July 1995, in which more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys were killed. This genocide took place during the Bosnian War. Notably, this version does not include the paratext that usually accompanies the poem and reads ' On the fall of Srebrenica, 11 July 1995'. The poem also refers briefly to sectarianism, and implicitly to the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland. There are many references also to Irish folklore in the poem.
